How to Take Off Fake Nails at Home: Acrylic, Gel, & More

You can head to the salon and have a nail technician remove your acrylics — then redo your nails for you. But if the last two years have taught us anything, we know that going to the salon or your favorite nail tech isn’t always going to be an option. We’ve had to take matters into our own hands — literally. Stick the end of a cuticle pusher underneath the gap between your fake nail and your real nail. Gently pry the nail upward to create a small gap to work with.
Grab a small piece of foil and wrap it around your fingertip to secure the cotton ball to your nail. Gently press the foil, so it forms to your fingertip.
